Westhope Craft College

About Us

Westhope Craft College was founded by Anne Dyer and Elizabeth Rumble in 1981. It has been an educational charity since 1990.
Our Academic Principal is Pat Phillpott a graduate of St. Martin’s School of Art, London.

The College was originally an Edwardian Dower House and home to the Dyer family.

Nestling in the depths of the beautiful South Shropshire hills, in a woodland and rural setting, it is now a dedicated Craft Training Centre.

We are renowned for our friendly and caring atmosphere, our superb food and the quality of our tutors. The beautiful gardens which are open to the public, add to the atmosphere of peace and tranquillity.

To our students, Westhope  Craft College is a creative haven, a craft retreat, a place of calm and inspiration. Our students often comment on the 'away from it all' atmosphere.

Anne Bent, Lacemaker says:

“A 'Westhope day' is a must each week, a place that seems to provide healing and nurturing alongside the creation of our crafts.”
