The earliest form of marbling originating in Japan over 800yrs ago. Sumi (ink) and nagashi (floating) describe the process of applying ink to the surface of water then taking a print on paper. The process is elegant and simple requiring some patience and mindfulness! You will look at which paper, brushes, ink and surfactant are suitable and create papers that can be used for book covers, cards, origami and many other uses.

MORE PAPERCUTTING

Using your own inspirational sources, take your creative paper cutting further by developing your designing expertise and honing your cutting skills. Create greetings cards, family names or a representation of a place or object that holds special meaning for you. The perfect follow on course for those students who have attended Christine's introduction to creative paper cutting workshops.

CALLIGRAPHY

Enjoy the making of letters and the writing of beautiful words. Use pen, ink and paint to design an interesting piece of calligraphy. This workshop will introduce newcomers to this wonderful craft, and also help those with previous experience revise their calligraphic hand.
