Felt making With Caroline Merrell
From fibre to felt, design and create a range of felt items including nuno felt and 3D objects, incorporating dyeing, printing and embellishing.

Jewellery with Steve O'Keefe
Learn traditional and innovative techniques in silversmithing and metal jewellery making, and design and create your own unique pieces.

Hand Embroidery with Wendy Ridick
Learn to use techniques of hand stitch with a variety of yarns, fabrics and other materials to design and create colour, texture and layering in a finished piece of embroidery.

Residents arrive Friday afternoon and the course starts Saturday morning at 9.30 and continues until 9.30pm. Sunday 9.30 finishing at 4.30.

Exhibition of work planned for 7th & 8th July 2012


The course can be paid for in 10 monthly installments of £84.00 through standing order or payment can be made in full in advance of the course start date.
To register for City & Guilds qualification it will be £65.00.
Cost of materials will be an addition.




Weekday City and Guilds Courses Level 2 Certificate
Courses run on termtime Thursdays from
September 2011 - June 2012

Glass with Anne Dyer
You will learn to design and make jewellery and larger more intricate pieces with different glass working methods including leading, foiling, fusing, slumping, engraving and etching.

Patchwork with Sandra Wiggins
Learn to dye your own fabrics and yarns and use with patchwork, applique and
quilting techniques to design and make  hand and machine patchwork items.


Machine embroidery with Pat Phillpott and Dorothy Symons
Discover the interesting range of techniques, traditional and innovative, worked on a sewing machine and create fabrics and surfaces to work with.

Course starts Thursday mornings at 9.30am and finishes at 4.30pm.

September 15th - December 8th every week (half term break October 27th)
January 12th - March 22nd alternate weeks
April 19th- May 24th every week


Exhibition of work planned for 7th & 8th July 2012
(Thursdays in June reserved for emergencies)

The course can be paid for in 10 monthly installments of £84.00 through standing order or payment can be made in full in advance of the course start date.

Equal emphasis will be given to the design and craft units by the tutors in accorance with City & Guilds guidelines, our internal verifiers are Pat Phillpott Dip.A.D. & Clare Linford.
